Finally was given a Wacom tablet and what a difference it has made. Being a left handed person who likes to listen to loud music, having a jumping mouse in my right hand has hampered my art more then I realized. Welcome to a whole new world.

Ok I know some of you are tired of hearing about this podcast. I KNOW! It is just I love doing it so much I feel i should be promoting the hell out of it. So here I am promoting. I adore interviewing interesting people and I definately need more. I feel I'm spending too much time talking about World of Warcraft and I need to expand my pool of gaming friends. So visit the facebook page THE GREY AREA and chat with me in the discussion forums. I love meeting new people and I really need more relationship questions for other show. It would be great to find some interesting voices to do bit on the show too. YAY PODCAST! I promise I wont talk about it obsessively from now on.

Yes its been forever since Ive blogged here but now thats going to change. I know you discrimiating 62 people are supersad that Ive been gone...or is it me checking my page 62 times a month that makes me think anyone reads this;)

Sometimes you just need that hiatus and mental vapidity to really feel like working again. My printer is finally working so Ill be posting some new pieces down at Building Character. Why is it that acid free paper is harder to find than unbiased news on FOX43? I dont think people will appreciate buying a print and having it fade after a month lol.

In other news....it was Brandons big 3 0 this past weekend and it was a blast. Discovered a new hangout and decided I need to reacquaint myself with Lancaster City. Aside from Rowans throwing up it was a great weekend!

hmmm

Yesterday I heard from an old boyfriend in high school. He looked me up after 13 years to touch base and reconnect. It was really nice to hear about his family and how well hes doing. When things end, especially badly, you always wonder...and hope that people have the lives they wished for so young. Back then I just wanted to be a famous artist or a singer. I do feel accomplished with my art even though Im far from famous but lately I just feel like I missed the boat on something. Like I really need to find something worthy to spend my drops of life on. I know someone with a security clearance that told me a small amount about the process of obtaining it. Being an investigator really interests me. Its a way to travel and meet new people, be nosy about someone and make sure those who are worthy get access to things that really make a difference in people lives. Weeding out those that are not doing as they should sounds appealing too. One of my gifts is the ability to assess people character in a very short time and get a good read on them, maybe my Roma ancestery or too many salesmen in my geneology lol im not sure. Even if Im not directly helping people, enabling those who do so much good like my friends would be honorable. Besides on a baser side having an FBI investigator tag would be really choice. Something to think about.

Dogness

Mon Nov 10, 2008, 6:50 AM
Just chillin

Im really interested in this horse game Ive discovered here. Apparently you draw a horse and can breed it to other peoples drawing and than subsequently draw the offspring. I tried to digitally make one yesterday and that was a flop. Really discouraging since Ive been drawing Horses since I was about 7 lol. Gonna go back to the old school and do it by hand. Got a new puppy, a chocolate lab names Fleur..( still we say floor) she is so cute and so bonded to me I cant walk two steps without falling over her. Never had a dog that was " mine" so to speak. Always a family pet or one that was indifferent. Its a really great feeling to have your own walking fan club of love. Happy fall to you all.

The show continued...

I had this lovely visit with a friend yesterday discussing art and projects and God. It occurs to me that I havent really explained what the sketchless series really is. In the description of some pieces there is a marker of " sketchless" which might seem odd. For me the best part of my creativity happens without my conscious control. Like breathing you can reach out and plan a piece; give it color, meaning, and layout concepts that infuse it with importance or you can just let your spirit (or whatever you call your creative talent) just run with it and give that freedom. Either way you continue to get air into your lungs, if you get my drift. Some art I plan when I have something specific to say but lately I just feel that urge to create. Im sure you know it, that feeling where if you dont do some sort of art or inceptive project that you become really hard to live with and quite rude. I usually let that build until I NEED to do something and whip it out quickly to the delight of all my family who have lived with me until that point.
I love the surprise and frankly genious of that part of ourselves that just makes things. I love looking at something Ive done and being awed by the fact that somehow all these years of verbage barrage and practice somehow impacted the design of something. Thats why I rarely explain a piece to people as they usually see things that my conscious mind didnt dictate but is no less true. An example, in "Christlight" or "christ crowned with thorns" why is it green and blue? Is it because the earth is green and blue and this is a way to tie a spiritual work into a earthy expression to make Christ or God live here again? Or is that the bullshit that art critics spout ( or sometimes artists..) that somehow give extra meaning to a piece that by itself already accomplishes what it should by existing. I dont know. Still.. its wonderful to find a bit of yourself that is smarter than your brain. So go head and spend more time in the bathroom staring at the tile ( you know you do) and finding art living in the swirls.

Over

Sat Oct 25, 2008, 3:35 PM
The show continued...

Well its almost the end
of the month and my show
is about over.It was an honor
being the artist of the month
and yes its my first show so
I really should just be grateful
to have the opportunity and hope
it leads to more exposure..still
feeling angry and hurt that none
of my friends took the time to
come and see it. I know its far
for some and just at an awkward time
for others but it was up for a
month!! Not one piece sold and they
were priced well. Lots of interest
though. Guess Ill take what comes
and reconsider some things.Lately
Im wondering if I expect to much
out of people or if I dont expect
enough. When you get disappointed
do you rethink your level of friendship
investment of yourself or do you just
get used to it and do whats best for
yourself in a given day and if things
work out that you can accomidate others
than fine but not go out of your way?
I really bend myself for my friends and
it hurts when it doesnt feel the same.

I dont think I'm gonna go to LA anymore
I get lost on the boulevard at night
Without your voice to tell me I love you,
take a right
the ten and the two is the loneliest sight

I'm gonna steer clear
Burn up in your atmosphere
I'm gonna steer clear
Cus I'd die if I saw you
I'd die if I didn't see you there
So I don't think I'm gonna go to LA anymore
